Overview
Atlantic mackerel is a cold-water pelagic with firm, flavourful, oil-rich flesh that is prized in food markets across Asia, Africa and Europe and valued by harvesters as premium bait. It is one of the species our members land from the waters off northeastern Cape Breton.
We supply mackerel whole and frozen, graded by size to suit either food or bait programmes. Because the catch is landed daily and frozen promptly, the fish keeps the bright appearance and firm texture that food buyers look for.
