Overview
Atlantic halibut is the prized groundfish of our region — a large, firm-fleshed flatfish that commands a premium on white-tablecloth menus and retail fish counters alike. It is landed by Co-op members from the waters off Cape Breton during the season.
We supply halibut fresh during the season and frozen out of season, in whole, headed-and-gutted (H&G) and filleted forms to your specification. Because it is landed and handled locally and quality-tested at the plant, you receive fish you can stand behind.
Halibut is a seasonal, quota-managed species, so availability varies through the year — talk to our team for current landings and to reserve product for your programme.
